Barnsley Companies Help Install Free Boilers

Monday October 14 2013

We Are Barnsley We Are Barnsley

BARNSLEY plumbing and heating installers are helping fit thousands of new boilers, free of charge, as part of a new government scheme.

YGI Ltd and Bumford Heating Ltd are among 100 installers across the UK to join the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme aiming to make households more energy efficient.

Funding will pay for energy efficiency improvements within vulnerable households, where residents receive benefits and currently spend more than 10 per cent of their income on fuel.

Noel Ferguson, managing director at YGI Ltd - based at the Burton Road Business Centre in Barnsley - said: "The ECO scheme can help people who are fuel poor and vulnerable, such as pensioners and young families.

"Rising fuel prices are a real issue for anyone on a lower income. Helping people heat their homes more efficiently will in turn reduce their heating bills."

The new scheme applies to households within the UK and supports anyone with annual incomes below £15,910 living in energy poor homes.

The scheme is restricted to private sector tenants and those living in private housing. Beneficiaries must be receiving certain benefits and tax credits, such as pension credit, child tax credit, income support or a disability premium.

No wonder gas & elec prices are going up when we are subsidising free boilers, loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, profits for solar panels....

I can see where this is going to go WAB.

The benefit bashers who work 20 hours a day are going to be along soon.

(Open popcorn, passes it around).

In the interest of competition there are quite a few companies now also able to provide free, energy efficient boilers. I had mine done by the Ecogise Group - www.ecogisegroup.co.uk and they were really good. Not dreading high bills this winter.

We had a fella from this company tell us it was for some sort of insulation on the outside of the house he never mentioned a new boiler so this company is conning people into believing they can have something which they actually cannot get we did tell him we've had a new boiler fitted within the past 3 yrs he also didn't tell us the guy who comes will be looking in every room in the house I don't think so!!

I've just had a look at the website & really surprised to find out that I qualify. I never usually do for anything like this due to being a working home owner.

Im so glad I help pay for free boilers, free insulation, solar panels etc especially when I cant afford for myself and my house doesn't qualify either because as its an old drafty terrace with poor insulation. Hope everyone else is enjoying their reduced bills through free stuff.
