Police Name Motorcyclist As Appeal Continues

Friday October 4 2013

THE police are continuing their appeal for witnesses after naming the 36-year-old motorcyclist who died following a collision on the A628 Woodhead Pass.

Marcus Skeet, 36, was riding a grey Suzuki Bandit motorcycle when, at around 12.45pm on September 25, it was in collision with a brown BMW 320D outside the Dog and Partridge pub.

Both the BMW and the motorcycle are believed to have been travelling towards Flouch roundabout.

Mr Skeet was initially taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly died on October 1.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the motorcycle on the A628 prior to the collision or who witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 435 of September 25, 2013.

what amateur journalism. You cannot even inform us where he was from.
R.I.P. Marcus ..... R.I.P. Good journalism.

It's a police appeal, Steve, probably direct from a press release. If you're so good at journalism I implore you to contact WAB and offer up your services... I also happen to know that the police wouldn't disclose where he was from, so you're proving your stupidity.

RIP common sense...

That's not a journalism piece though is it? It's an appeal from the police. Think before you open your mouth! Bloody troll

I agree Mat .. what difference does it make where he' s from ?... it states where the accident was , and an appeal for witnesses ..thats it .. his names there .. if you don tknow him .. why would you want to know where he lived..? This is just what burglars do when they find out when funerals are ... R. I P Marcus..x

Marcus was my son, we have been totally devastated by all of this.
He was a serving Captain in the Army 6 weeks away from retirement.
Heavily recognised for his service in war zones.
A tragic waste in a tragic accident. He was riding impeccably as stated by the coroner, a terrible waste.
Hope you find a better way of expressing your views!!!

To Mr Skeet, Marcus was very dear and respected by me; he challenged anyone. Brave man your son. I am so sad to learn this. I have one picture of him.

Steve, words are easy, Marcus was my life, our life
