I would still like a reply from w a b why you keep putting this ad in every week.
Surely even your intelligent staff sees no point in police doing there job to prevent speeders and the the risk of killing. others by forwarning drivers where they can speed.
After all if people dont keep getting caught and paying out, there never going to slow down.
Perhaps if it was one of your children or family you may decide it wasnt a good idea

Because, Mae, this information's given to every news outlet in the area in the hope that it'll slow would-be speeders down. Simple, really.

As a driver,I think the spped trap notices are a good idea. Not that I,m a Sterling Moss kinda driver, but it does make you more aware of your speed, and so acts as a deterent. All drivers go over the limit at some point, don't care who it is. The notices are meant as just that. It keeps drivers on our toes and hopefully more respectfully to other road users. After all,we don't want the police jumping out from behind hedges with the speed gun, that's what its not about, though it does happen. The police realise drivers do speed, this is the tap on the shoulder that most of us need from time to time. So yes, keep printing the notices.

Ok that makes me feel much better that youve explained that issue now explain why it doesnt work. after all between the north side o f birdwell 30 mph and hoyland common traffic lights 30 mph.
Motorists at any point in the day everyday. drive at between 40 and 70 mph.not all but it only takes one.
Buses drivers also think it is a 40 mph along hoyland common

They can't have a speed camera everywhere. Have you thought, they might announce locations of speed traps, but actually place them elsewhere. Then there's the threat and the reality. Double whammy. The cops can't do everything. The announcements work enough to scare most drivers in that area, so job done.

Until they make speed limits 'realistic' people will tend to ignore them.Look at the stupid restrictions on Wakefield rd..50mph, when it should be 60. Woolley Edge 40 mph ..again 60 is realistic..The most ridiculous limit is in Haigh hill...30 mph...if its safe to drive thru Staincross at 40 mph, and it is, Haigh is far less built up.

Nobody speeds in Kilburn where I live. Too much traffic. You do get yummy mummies who are taking their precious kids to school who beep their horn whilst you are crossing. I find 'Go **** your mother' followed by a banging on the car windscreen to be adequate.
