Dagnall Targets More Goals

CHRIS Dagnall has targeted more goals this season as he looks to establish himself as a Championship player after chipping in with ten important goals last term.

"As a striker you're paid to score goals so obviously that's my main target," the 27-year-old said.

"People compliment me on my work rate and what else I bring to the team but there's no better feeling than putting the ball in the net and I want to get more than I did last season.

"Last season had its ups and downs but we got into a rhythm after the Leeds game. We were a different side from that point on."

Dagnall says he knows competition will be tough but says it's healthy for players to know they're not guaranteed a start.

"I know that I have to score goals and keep performing to keep my place in the team. That doesn't bother me - it's good pressure as it keeps us on our toes."

The striker, who came to prominence during his prolific spell at Rochdale, reckons the Reds can push up the league in this season's campaign and is confident Flicker's men will continue to upset big clubs.

"We proved a lot of people wrong last season and we'll do it again this time round. It won't be easy, but we're full of confidence."

He has targeted more goals? Does he mean some goals? How many goals has he scored in how many games?
