We Are Barnsley has obtained a list of the latest road closures and diversions. Here they are.

 

16th November,Wednesday
From 16th November until 18th November there will be maintenance works to the level crossing at Dodworth. Manchester Road will be closed for 20 metres either side of the crossing from 6pm until 7am. A diversion will be in place along Whinby Road/North Road/Barnsley Road/Mitchelson Avenue.

18th November, Friday
A temporary Road closure will take place in Cawthorne from 9pm until 9.20pm to allow the Cawthorne Fire Festival to take place. It will start at the Spencers Arms pub on Church Street and finish at Cawthorne Club on Tivy Dale.

Pit Lane In Wombwell will be closed between 9am until 4pm. The extent of the closure will be 20m either side of the railway to allow an examination to take place by contractors. Diversions will be in pace along Dovecliffe Road/ Hough Lane/ Windmill Lane.

20th November, Sunday
Midland Road, Lund Hill Lane and Station Road In Royston will be part of a rolling road closure between 10.30am and 12pm. This is to allow the Barnsley 10k Road Race to take place.

26th November, Saturday
High Street Wombwell will be closed from Cemetery Road to George Street between 4.30pm and 5.30pm to allow the Christmas light switch on ceremony to take place.

Two access roads off Doncaster Road, Barnsley will be temporarily closed from the 26th November until 5th December to allow electric cables to be installed. The roads affected are the access roads at the rear of Doncaster Road, Junction Street and Pindar Street.

3rd December, Saturday
From the 3rd December until the 4th December there will be maintenance works to the Dodworth railway level crossing, The B6099 Manchester Road will be closed for 20 metres either side of the crossing from 9pm until 10am. A diversion will be in place along Whinby Road/North Road/Barnsley Road/Mitchelson Avenue.

5th January, Thursday
From the 5th January Until the 6th January there will be maintenance works to the Dodworth railway level crossing, The B6099 Manchester Road will be closed for 20 metres either side of the crossing from 6pm until 7am. A diversion will be in place along Whinby Road/North Road/Barnsley Road/Mitchelson Avenue.
