Winter Changes To Green Bin Collections

LEAFLETS are being distributed across Barnsley to explain changes to the winter green bin collections.

From December 6 - February 29, only clean cardboard will be collected from green bins - households that produce garden waste during the winter period are asked to use a home compositor or take it to one of the council's household waste and recycling centres.

Coun Roy Millar said: "During the winter hardly any garden waste is collected, it therefore makes more sense to collect clean cardboard only which we can recycle rather than composting."

A reduction in council tax should be in order then! I have a huge garden and it needs constant up keep, I think its ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!! (council tenant rules state gardens must be kept tidy so which is it then?)
