Libraries Survey Launched

Thursday April 18 2013

What do you think to Barnsley's libraries? What do you think to Barnsley's libraries?

PEOPLE in Barnsley are being asked for their views on the future priorities for libraries in the area.

The council's Future Libraries Strategy hopes to continue to provide a comprehensive library service to all residents, while ensuring that it is more relevant, efficient and sustainable.

Residents are invited to give their opinions on this strategy, which includes six proposed priorities. Click here for more information.

There are also questions about their library use, proposed changes to opening hours, the use of technology in libraries and how individuals, community groups and businesses could get involved with their local library.

The survey started on Monday April 15 and runs for 12 weeks, closing on July 1.

Cllr Jenny Platts, said: “As I'm responsible for libraries in the area I share a passion that many people across Barnsley have for their local library and am determined to deliver a first class service that provides safe, accessible and friendly spaces at the heart of our borough’s communities.

"I would encourage people to participate in the consultation process and share with us ways in which we can work together to secure a positive future for the service.”
