Monday October 24 2011

THE family of the Jump man who was taken to hospital in the small hours of yesterday morning (Monday 24 October) have confirmed he is in stable condition.

Police closed off Wentworth Road, outside Jump Working Men's Club, after responding to an incident at 12.20am (Monday.)

A police spokesman said the incident resulted in one local man, in his fifties, being taken to hospital and another one, also in his 50s, being arrested and is helping police with their inquiries.

Police are still investigating and will release more information when they have it.

That club needs restrictions on its opening hours, I get fed up of all the drunks at early hours of the morning. No wonder you get incidents like this, its about time something was done.

I am sorry but i disagree with the above comment, i live very close to the club and granted there is the odd incident but there are far more incidents with drunks shouting and fighting coming from the other drinking establishments.

The club isn't the problem its the people that visit the area from other areas, the Club is trying to get the community together just because an incident happened near the club doesn't make the club responsible.
