Asda recalls corned beef Asda recalls corned beef

SUPERMARKET giant Asda said that it's recalling its range of budget corned beef after phenylbutazone was detected.

The veterinary pain killer - commonly known as bute - is banned from the human food chain as it's possible that it could pose a health risk. However, the Food Standards Agency said the risk to people who have eaten the product was low.

Asda has urged its customers to return tins to their nearest store.

"Although there is a very low health risk, we are recalling this product," said a spokesperson from the nationwide chain.

"This simply means that we ask anyone who has tinned Smart Price Corned Beef (340g) in their cupboards at home to bring it back into store for a full refund."

This is what comes from not really caring about what you sell to people as long as you're making a profit.
