Man Blames Snow For No-Show

A MAN said he could not attend Barnsley Magistrates' Court as soon as was possible - because it was snowing.

Lee Guest, 31, who was on police bail for being drunk and disorderly, notified the court and was told by court staff to call back on another working day.

Guest, who also put his non-attendance down to him starting a one-man business as a plasterer, appeared in custody.

Julie Grant, prosecuting, said: "You have heard Mr Guest say he did not turn up at court earlier because it was snowing. He should have attended before being brought to court."

She said Guest, of Bolton-upon-Dearne, was originally arrested for being argumentative and abusive towards police in Barnsley Interchange.

She said he was drunk.

Guest, who was not represented by a solicitor, said he had had a lot to drink. He admitted being drunk and disorderly and failing to answer police bail.

He was given a 14-day curfew, ordered to pay £85 in costs, a £60 victim surcharge and freed from custody.

Or was it because you cannot clearly read or write properly?

You have no business running a business with that spelling. Plus people dont take builders to court for the fun of it. You get no sympathy cowboy.

Just because they clearly can not spell properly doesnt mean they cannot run a business have you. Ever thought they may have a disabilety such as dislexia that doesnt stop people having a business to do building work you dont need to spell!
