Police Appeal For Witnesses After Athersley South Crash

Monday February 11 2013

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision occurred in Athersley South on Friday night.

It's thought that the white Ford Courier, driven by an 18-year-old man from Lundwood is believed to have been travelling along Wingfield Road towards Laithes Lane when it collided with an unattended parked silver Volkswagen Golf, at around 10pm.

The Volkswagen Golf has then struck a garden wall and caused the Ford Courier to spin and collide with a further vehicle - a blue Vauxhall Zafira.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or can provide information as to the manner of driving before the collision occurred are urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1249 of 8 February 2013.

I live on Wingfield rd and even thought they have a 20MPH speed limit on here hardly anyone uses it
we have an entrance to a school half way down and the parents park all the way down on both side they block the entrance off to the ring on wingfield rd ,, i,m amazed there isn,t more accidents as car drivers dont care
