Runner To Raise Money For Barnsley Hospice
Tuesday January 22 2013
A FUNDRAISER is starting a 10-month training schedule ahead of Glasgow's Great Scottish Run in October.
John Fahey, 25, is already a two-time competitor of the 10km run. His third attempt is in memory of his grandfather, Gilbert Jennings, who passed away late last year. Mr Fahey is raising money for Barnsley Hospice - the place where his grandad spent his final days.
''Barnsley is a fantastic hospice. I'd never dealt with them before, but I have nothing but praise for them,'' said Mr Fahey. ''I raised around £700 last year, but I want to do it for Barnsley Hospice this time to give something back, and make my grandad proud.''
