Police Officer Tweet Incidents Today
Friday November 2 2012
POLICE officers will be tweeting the details of every incident of antisocial behaviour today to highlight the number of incidents they deal with.
From noon until midnight, officers will provide details on social networking site Twitter, which will include their response.
Statistics from previous years show police dealt with over 400 anti social behaviour complaints in the run up to bonfire night (between 30 and November 5.) On the same night last year, there was 65 reports.
Police will today be doing high-visibility patrols, visits to firework retailers challenging the sale of fireworks to under 18s, patrols tackling the antisocial use of scooters on the road and Trojan bus operations.
Chief Inspector Colin McFarlane said: “We know people are concerned about teenagers hanging around on the streets.
“We know antisocial behaviour can have an impact on how safe and secure people feel and as a Force we are committed to tackling it.”
The police will be tweeting from @trickntweets and we will be updating on We Are Barnsley throughout the day.
