Wednesday October 31 2012
THE FAMILY of a man who died after being shot in his upper body on his own doorstep have issued a statement after his death.
Tyron Woodhead, 42, clung to life for almost a month after being shot on September 20. He died last week.
His wife Gill said: "As a family we are devastated by Tyron's death.
"He battled on through for nearly a month before he died. He was so strong and loved by many people we cannot believe what has happened and our family will never be the same again.
“He was a great husband and dad to Shannon and his parents Jim and Jen miss him so very much.
“Our many friends and family have rallied round and helped us through this very difficult time."
South Yorkshire Police are now treating the investigation as murder.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident after a man hunt in Thurnscoe.
