Dearne Roads And Pavements Get Repair Boost
Friday November 2 2012
PAVEMENTS and roads in the Dearne are being improved and repaired thanks to a £560,000 funding boost.
The cash - which comes from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) - will see existing footpaths widened and resurfaced, with tactile crossings for the disabled and new road surfacing also being done.
Work will be carried out from Doncaster Road to High Street, Westview Crescent to Goldthorpe Road, Carr Field Lane to Manvers, Pagnell Avenue to Nicholas Lane and Barrowfield Road to Lidget Lane.
Coun Roy Miller, Cabinet spokesman for development, said: “These new routes will provide sustainable access to places of employment, transport and amenities for local people."
