M1 Works Mean 50 MPH Speed Limit Added

A NEW central reservation is to be fitted to a stretch of the M1 which will see a temporary speed limit of 50 MPH in place.

The work will be between junctions 37 and 38 and will see the Highways Agency replace the existing steel barrier with concrete to reduce the risk of vehicles involved in accidents from crossing sides of the motorway.

Work will start on October 15 and is due to last until December 21.

Three narrowed lanes will be in operation during the day but there may be lane closures overnight.

Thehigways agency have planned this down to a t oh yes over the massive rush of christmas me thinks the planning deoartment need to rethink

This work has been done on a number ov junctions and i travel on the motaway daily and never found there to be any delays, and its allways done in the time stated 'and the traffic duz not stop '

If everyone drives normally and sensibly there'll be no probs as there are still 3 lanes.

I don't think any time of the year is good for this kind of work, but it has to be done to save lives and make motoring safer.

People would be moaning if repairs/maintenance were never carried out, just let them do their job, don't be impatient, and things will run smoothly.
