Tuesday October 16 2012
A LOCAL fund-raising event has raised almost £3,500 for Cystic Fibrosis.
Katie Maxwell and her friends did a sponsored ten mile walk to raise money for research into the condition after one of their friends was diagnosed.
She said: "Fortunately he is very well but the disease itself can be devastating and causes two children to die each week.
"Life expectancy isn’t much over 30 and over 9000 other young people in the UK are affected."
