Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Wath Shooting

A MAN who was apprehended after a police operation in the Dearne last week has appeared before the courts, charged with attempted murder.

Nathan Wingfield, 22, appeared before Rotherham Magistrate's Court on Saturday (Sept 29) and was remanded in custody.

He was charged with three separate incidents - one of which was the attempted murder of Tyrone Woodhead, 42, who was shot in Wath on September 20.

Nathan was also charged with robbery related to a separate incident in Wath on 20 September and aggravated burglary after an incident in Bentley, Doncaster on 12 September.

Police are continuing to search for another local man and believe the shooting was a targeted incident.

Tyrone Woodhead remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
