Cardboard Copper Nicked From Supermarket

A CARDBOARD cut-out of a police officer that was meant to deter thieves has been stolen from a supermarket.

The six-foot cardboard bobby was taken from Sainsbury's Local in Shafton.

Photographs of the 'kidnapped bobby' have emerged on social networking sites such as Facebook, showing the figure at house parties.

A spokesman from Sainsbury's said: "It’s bizarre that someone would steal our cardboard copper, PC Bobby, we'd got use to having him around and hope he’s returned in one piece."

Perhaps the government should be finding a solution to bring back recruitment for the private sector so shops etc do not require pretend cut outs of police. Absolutely ridiculous they would even think this idea would help the decrease in petty crime.
Cut backs is not the solution

actually, studies show that so much as a cardboard pair of eyes can reduce crime in shops

I went in a few shops on Saturday, whitch were close to each other and the same cardboard police officer was in. It would help if there was different cardboard police officers in different shops, because the same police officer can`t be in different places at the same time. People will get use to seeing the same police officer in different shops.
