wot a set of tadgers they dont want to slow ppl darn they in it for money simple as...

i got pulled on sheffield road in between penistone n oxspring i was only doing 36mpg i though it was 40mpg i still gor £30 n 3 points and he was even hiding in a bus shelter with it. not like thay ant got anything better to do ?

Cos cops would much rather deal with ignorant drivers such as yourselves than just leave you to kill yourselves or others by speed. JUst because you are ignorant to the speed limit the police should let you off, sure they have got better things to do than deal with people who cannot read "30" signs. Bet neither of you have lost a family member to a speeding driver !

All theyre doing it for is the money, someone goes 5mph out of the speed limit, and they have to pay out for it, its pathetic that they pay people to stand and hide in little side roads or like above in bus shelters they need to concentrate more on making things better

I agree with Joe. This list should not be publicised. Just follow the legal rules like the rest of us and dont speed. Then more people may live every year. This is not about money it is about safety. The Police have a legal obligation to enforce road law as well as other types of laws. It is in their job description so dont come out with rubbish like they have nothing better to do. They are doing their job by persecuting you eejits.

some speed camera's are placed in very very bad places, especially the ones on hills it is extreemly hard to stay at 30 so EVERONE brakes and looks down at speedo meaning they are not paying full attention on the road.

its the same roads every week y dont thay try out side schools 4 a start

I think there should also be a slow camera ;-) seriously though some people drive so much below the speed limit it becomes dangerous, u followed a car on to the motorway down a slip road doing 30mph.......and cars on 60 roads doing 30 and 40mph, people late for work etc... Overtake these and accidents occur. I know you shouldn't over take when not safe to do so so I'm not blaming the slowers

Fair play outside schools and other busy public areas. Some place tho are just too sneaky

Not to sound preachy but those people who have a problem with speed cameras shouldn't be speeding. Then they wouldn't take issue with it. The reason these speed checks are sometimes stationed just before you enter a 40 zone from a 30 and vice versa is because people use the excuse of building up speed before they hit a sign and slowing down after they've driven past it. If you followed the rules of the road then you'd have no issue with this as you'd slow/speed to the appropriate speed when you actually should. I think there should be more of these. I'm fed up of idiots driving up my arse when I'm doing the speed limit cos they wanna get to where they're going one minute faster! And you're given plenty of warnings on here of where they'll be. Stop complaining and start driving like civilised people, then you won't get caught speeding. Simple

Tony depending which bit you got pulled in there is a small 40 strech that goes from argo feeds to just passed the bridge as you enter oxpring, 2 of the signs can be quite confusing as they are really close together

The speed limit is there for a reason....
You got punished in school for mis-behaving
You get punished for breaking the law.
Act like a child, get treated like a child.......simple as....

I totally agree with the fact that speed should be prosecuted with points but if there not in it for the money why do they fine u £60 were all human we all make mistakes its easy to mistake the speed limit on the road your on because u think you know. My point is if there not in it for the money why fine you

Dont speed = not getting stopped = no fine/points = fewer deaths due to speeding = SIMPLES..............

it's not that simple Jonathan they are doing for the money once again they need to come where i live they will fine a few but no they want do they get people what take care and not the people what are speeding and in some places the councils have not put any speed signs up and i have pasted this onto the police to put them right THEY NEED TO GO AND GET THE CRIMINALS NOT GET THEMSELFS MONEY.

South Yorkshire police are one of the most lenient I know, I think it's 10% + 3 mph over the speed limit which means in a 30 zone they will start to issue tickets at 36mph at 40 it is 47 mph etc which I think is fair.
If you don't want the fine or the points, then do NOT speed. Simple.

I've been driving 24 yrs & have never had a speeding fine or a crash.

If Ur speeding Ur speeding and should b penalised, if Ur doing 36 in a 30 then u should get a fine, otherwise it may as well b a 36.. I think it should just end at the fine though..

Stop sending money to other countries and use in this country for such things as camera's then our officers can deal with the real crimes simples

Just to clear up the "there doing it for the money" crap! The police force do NOT receive money from any fine/ticket given out. Not just speeding, but parking, littering, dog fouling, etc. ALL the money goes to the government or local council.

look i got dune speeding doing 35 in a 30 went on a cores and it opend mi eys well worth it
