Shooting Investigation Ongoing After Thurnscoe Raids

POLICE say they are still conducting inquiries in relation to a shooting incident in Wath last week after homes in Thurnscoe were raided yesterday.
Officers swooped on Thurnscoe in a bid to trace two suspects who were wanted in connection with a shooting. (STORY HERE AND HERE)
Armed response officers, the police helicopter and police cars were searching the streets after getting intelligence that the suspects were in the village.
Many residents reported that police had been into local shops, schools and homes as part of the manhunt.
A spokesman said: "Detectives believe the shooting to be a targeted attack and despite the
significant police presence, there is no threat to members of the community.
"We are still conducting enquiries in relation to the incident."
A 22-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and officers are continuing to search for a further local man.
