Police Hunt For Shooting Suspects- Arrest Made

A POLICE operation is underway in Thurnscoe as police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting.
Residents report that armed response officers, the police helicopter and police cars are in the village today, searching the streets after getting intelligence that the suspect was in the village.
Police say a large team of armed and unarmed have been deployed to Barnsley as part of the investigation into a shooting in Wath-upon-Dearne on Thursday, 20 September (STORY HERE).
A spokesman said: "Detectives believe the shooting to be a targeted attack and despite the
significant police presence, there is no threat to members of the community."
A 22-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and officers are continuing to search for a further local man.
