Police Quash Thurnscoe Gunman Rumours

POLICE have issued a statement to quash rumours that there is a man with a gun on the loose in Thurnscoe.
Residents have reported seeing police cars, vans and the helicopter across the village today - but a police spokesman said there is no danger to the public.
She added: "Despite a number of rumours in the Thurnscoe area there has been no sighting of a man running round with a gun.
"The operation in Thurnscoe is in connection with an ongoing incident. Police have been carrying out a number of inquiries in relation to this incident and there is not any danger."
