Vandals Target Primary School

Thursday September 27 2012

VANDALS broke in to a local primary school and ruined hundreds of meals meant for the children and a special garden they had created.

They climbed on the roof and turned off ventilation systems at Shawlands Primary, Shaw Lane, affecting the refrigeration of hundreds of meals.

Deputy headteacher Lee McLure said the culprits had caused damage to classrooms, the shed and ruined a garden project the students had done.

“When the kids saw it was their project that has been wrecked they were really upset,” he said.

“They have done all the trees and planters and a school garden. The vandals have wrecked it.”

Potts Bakers of Stairfoot stepped in to help when they heard the children were left with no dinner.

Police are investigating.

This happened at my children's school and they were so upset - lots of hard work went into that garden by staff, pupils and parents; it had even won an award! The people who did this are disgusting, mindless thugs!

Although this story is really sad and a lot of hard work has been out to waste and meals lost. It's ok calling the people that did this "scum" and asking if their " parents are proud", just stop and think for a minute why was these people there? What was they doing? And look t the age group you are all aiming you comments at!
These are children that have been pushed to there bitten end of being board and having nothing to do, what activities is there to keep the children entertained and engaged in activities to keep them
From mischief, think its time the council brought more youth and community activities together. Parents have to work and child care cost a bomb, unless things change for the better things Only the tip of anti- social behaviour we are going to see. Sorry for the rant, but kids are kids. Give them options and entertainment instead of insults. Rant over
