Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Accident

A WOMAN is being treated for a serious head injury after she was hit by a car in Barnsley yesterday.
The 36-year-old pedestrian was at the junction of Middlesex Street with Park Road at around 8:08pm on Tuesday, 25 September.
It is thought she stepped from the footpath onto the road and collided with the bonnet and windscreen of a blue Ford Fiesta driven by a 28-year-old Barnsley man.
She suffered a serious head-injury, broken ribs and a suspected broken pelvis and was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital where she is currently being treated.
The driver of the Fiesta was not injured.
Police have asked for witnesses to call 101 quoting incident number 1033 of 25 September 2012.
