Barnsley Lad Launches Own Music Studio
Friday September 14 2012
A BARNSLEY musician has saved up to buy the recording studio he used to rehearse in.
Brett Jackson, 21, a wedding singer, has set up Studio 24 in the town centre.
Brett says music is his passion and - after performing in local bands and completing a BA Hons degree in music production - he set up a wedding-singing and DJ business with his friend Andrew Lingard.
He said: "At the age of 13, I set up his own door-to-door car washing business to help me buy my first guitar.
"My cousin had one and gave it up early so my mum and dad said they wouldn't get me one.
"I have saved every penny I can from the weddings – and now I have snapped up the recording studio where I used to practice."
Brett's studio does everything from music production to music videos.
