A NEW care home has been officially opened in Hoyland Common - creating 60 jobs.
St James' Court on Tankersley Lane houses 58 residents and provides residential, nursing and dementia care.
MP Michael Dugher opened the facility - run by Crown Care - last week.
He said; "At a time when there is so much pressure on the elderly care system, it’s great to see such high quality facilities opening in Hoyland Common."
The home, which has been built on the former Hoyland Common Primary School site, was due to open in July but bad weather and building problems had caused a delay.
