Thursday September 20 2012

A PUB in Barnsley has scooped an award for being one of the best in Yorkshire.

The Old Number 7 on Market Hill was given a bronze award for best pub in Yorkshire and the north east by the Campaign for Real Ale.

It was opened last year by Judy and Dave Hughes (Acorn Brewery, Wombwell) and business partner Michael Thorpe.

Used to booze here in the early 80's with Mick Harrison, Chris Emblem and Rich Speight, plus others and a great atmosphere always and what a jukebox, good metal selection. Then off to the Ring'o'Bells, better jukebox and great beer, brilliantly run by Lord and Lady Carnavale, Tarn Royalty !
