A LAST minute hitch which threatened to affect the closing ceremony of the London Paralympic Games has been resolved by a Barnsley firm.
Laser cutting and engraving specialists Cutting Technologie were contacted by designer Moritz Waldemeyer with an urgent request for nearly 2,000 laser cut pieces of acrylic and mylar which will play a key part in the finale.
Director Jane Robinson said: “When Moritz called and explained the trouble he was having in finding a laser firm we pulled out all the stops.”
Top stars including Rihanna and the band Coldplay are lined up to play at the closing ceremony, which will be based on a theme of earth, wind, water, fire and ice.
