Monday August 20 2012
STUDENTS from Barnsley College have raised over £13,000 for a housing project in Mozambique.
The students raised £13,260 for the ‘Big School Build Project’ which is an initiative from Habitat for Humanity, the charity that works around the world to end poverty housing.
Four Barnsley College students from the Business and Management department, along with two members of staff, travelled to Mozambique to help build homes for local residents, including orphans and vulnerable children.
The money raised was through silent auctions, clairvoyant evenings and sponsored walks.
