Gang Of Teens Attack Man In Unprovoked Assault

POLICE are searching for a gang of teenagers thought to be responsible for an unprovoked attack on a man in Athersley.
The attack - on July 16 at 9pm - happened on Lindhurst Road.
Six teenage lads started shouting abuse at the 37-year-old man who was walking along the street.
He ignored then but one ran up to him and pushed him to the floor - the rest of the group then ran over and allegedly started to punch and kick him in the head.
He was left with a broken nose and swelling and bruising to his right eye.
One of the teenagers is described as 14 to 15-years-old and white. He is of a medium build and approximately 5ft 9ins tall. He had a long face and a long nose and spoke with a local accent.
A second teenager is described as 16 to 17-years-old and white. He is of a muscular build and between 5ft 10ins and 5ft 11ins tall with short brown hair. He was wearing jeans and a dark coloured jumper with either spots or squares. He also spoke with a local accent.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 1225 of 16/07/2012.
