Second Community Clean-Up Hits Cloughfields

Thursday August 16 2012

A COMMUNITY clean-up operation is being held in Hoyland today - for the second time.

Kilmeny Payling, who has lived on the Cloughfields estate for more than 33 years, contacted volunteer charity Voluntary Action Barnsley to ask for help in tidying it up.

The charity help to organise volunteer events and held a campaign asking people in Barnsley to nominate areas that needed a bit of care.

The clean-up will start today at 11am - it follows a large-scale clean-up event in May when pupils from Springwood Primary School volunteered to help.

The field opposite Cloughs next to the Cloughs park is a disgrace, dog walkers having to dance over broken glass, litter, burnt wires and tyres amongst other things
