'Hero' Votes Invited For NHS
Tuesday August 14 2012
BARNSLEY'S NHS is asking for local people to nominate a member of staff who deserves recognition.
The NHS Heroes campaign is open for the first time to allow patients the change to nominate people for an award.
A spokesman said: "Your hero doesn’t need to have saved lives because it’s often the small things that make a huge difference.
"Your local NHS hero might have demonstrated real commitment and compassion that went beyond the call of everyday duty by sharing a cup of tea, offering a hand to hold or a shoulder to lean on giving healthcare at its very best."
Anyone in an NHS health or wellbeing role can be nominated from Nurses, Health Visitors, Dieticians, Midwifes and Occupational Therapists to Physiotherapists, Receptionists, Pharmacists, Mental Health Nurses and Doctors and Dentists.
