Boost To Hair And Beauty Apprenticeships
Wednesday August 8 2012
LOCALS aspiring to be hairdressers and beauty therapists will have access to more courses thanks to funding changes.
Training company Dimensions - which last year trained 250 apprentices - said funding changes mean that unemployed people who are on benefits will be eligible for free training.
Spokesman Andy Heseltine said: “These changes are very welcome and give more freedom and flexibility to those that find themselves unemployed and wanting an opportunity to gain qualifications at the same time as upskilling themselves due to the impact the economic climate is having across the country.
“It’s great news for those who missed out on a career in hairdressing, or left many years ago but still feel passionate about the industry and want to return again to do their qualifications."
The changes also mean that self-employed hairdressers wanting to train to level three will also get funding.
