THE army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has been called to Grimethorpe after officers executing a warrant on Brierley Road this morning, found a number of suspicious items.
A 100m cordon is in place as a precaution while emergency services work together at the scene.
There are some road closures and public transport may also be disrupted.
A police spokesman said: “We would advise members of the public to avoid the area. We would like to thank the public for their patience and their cooperation. We will update you again as soon as we have more information.”
